Things to do Valentines Day San Francisco

Valentines Day falls on a Saturday this year making it the perfect time for a day trip or weekend getaway. If you are planning to stay in town or head out on an adventure with your loved one. Here is a handy list of things to do on Valentines day in San Francisco.

Muir Woods National Monument - West coast redwood trees dominate Muir Woods. There are several trails that offer a variety of habitats and degree of hiking difficulty. Today the woods look way much of the Marin County land once appeared.

Napa Valley Wine Tasting - Recognized around the world as a great wine region. Its wines are highly regarded for their superior quality and diversity of style.Napa Valley is home to more than 260 wineries with many offering tours,wine tasting.

Sausalito - A waterfront community that lies across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco. Sausalito is home to two major children’s attractions: the Bay Area Discovery Museum and the San Francisco Bay Model.

China Camp State Park - The site of a fishing village on San Pablo Bay. The park is enjoyed by hikers and mountian bike riders. 1,640 acres of natural watershed along the shores of San Francisco Bay.

Alcatraz Island- One of the most popular visitor destination in San Francisco. The "Day Tour" is most popular. It includes round-trip transportation to the island and a walking audio tour. The view of the San Francisco skyline is worth the price of admission.

Filoli Estate - A 654 acre estate on the eastern slope of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Filoli is open for public tours of the gardens and historic house. Attractions include self-guided tours, guided tours, and nature hikes.

Angel Island - Angel Island is the largest Island in San Francisco Bay. Tours of Angel Island's historic sites are offered by State Park Volunteers. Tram tours, bike rentals, camping, and sea kayaking. One of San Francisco's best day trips.

Jelly Belly Factory- Not only is the tour free you also get a free bag of candy at the end of your factory tour. More than 400,000 people tour the facility that includes a large retail store, cafe and birthday party rooms.

Oakland Zoo - Located in 525-acre Knowland Park, the Zoo is home to more than 440 native and exotic animals. There is also a kids zoo with plenty of hands-on fun. Children under 2 years are admitted free.

San Francisco Zoo - Northern California's largest zoological park and conservation center. Over 250 different animal species in naturalistic surroundings nestled against the Pacific Ocean.

Half Moon Bay - Four miles of sandy beaches stretch out around Half Moon Bay. This picturesque setting is ideal for a weekend day trip or over night stay. Seasonal fog in the late summer and cool breezes off the ocean are common.
