Eureka California is perfectly situated as a base camp for exploring the rugged north coast of California. Sitting on the edge of Humboldt Bay this coastal town is a classic town with hundreds of restored Victorian homes and businesses. The stand out building in town is the Carson Mansion which was built in the late 1800s. Winters are foggy and rainy but during the summer Eureka has perfect weather perfect for discovering Northern California. Redwood National and State Parks are inland from Eureka and have some of the tallest and oldest redwood trees in the nation. The North Coast California is a vast area covering nearly 400 miles of coastline. Eureka California is an excellent choice for the start of any California North Coast road trip.
