Madame Tussauds Hollywood

Madame Tussauds is having its grand opening in Hollywood, California on August 1, 2009. Located on Hollywood Boulevard next to Grauman's Chinese Theatre the wax museum ads another first class attraction to downtown Hollywood. The $55-million structure will house 115 wax figures, including the likenesses of actors Bruce Willis, Halle Berry, James Bond, Clint Eastwood and even Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Unlike other wax museums, Madame Tussauds will let you get up close to the wax figures to take pictures. The wax figures can take three to four months sculpt and cost nearly $300,000 each. The entrance to Madame Tussauds Hollywood will feature a red carpet, flashing cameras and Joan Rivers' gravity-defying likeness, complete with microphone in hand to greet visitors. This is the ninth Madame Tussauds and the first-ever to be built from the ground up. The building is over 40,000 square foot, three-stories high and has underground parking. For the first week tickets will be offered at reduced rates and after that tickets will be an expensive $25.00 each.
Madame Tussauds is located next to the famous Grauman's Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard.
