Lyon Air Museum is a brand new destination in Orange County. The 30,000 square foot facility is directly across the runway at John Wayne Airport. Housed in a huge aircraft hanger is an assortment of WW2 aircraft and antique autos from the era. William Lyon, the housing developer, is displaying his collection of warplanes in the museum and it is now open to the public for all to view. While you are checking out the museums collection you can see and hear the commercial aircraft taking off at the airport. The museum not only displays aircraft but will also be active in restoring planes.
