Borrego Springs Prehistoric Statues
Borrego Springs Statues
Borrego Springs is most visited during the spring when thousands of people flock to this desert community to view wild flowers. Borrego Springs has another reason to visit this desert oasis. Over the last couple of years Dennis Avery and artist Ricardo Breceda have been placing life size statues of Prehistoric creatures that once inhabited this region of Southern California. These sculptures are an amazing sight to see in the middle of the Anza Borrego Desert. There are more than fifty prehistoric look-a-likes scattered across Dennis Avery's Borrego Springs property with plans for more. Borrego Springs is located in the middle of Anza- Borrego State Park which in itself is a wonderful place to visit. With the addition of these fascinating metal statues Borrego Springs is a must see. More information and a map to the statues is available on Dennis Avery's website.
