Randsburg Living ghost town
Randsburg is located in Kern County California off Highway 395. Randsburg has come close to becoming a ghost town several times since its beginning in 1895. The mountains around Randsburg have produced millions of dollars of gold and silver. Randsburg has not changed much over the years although these days its mostly a stop over for travelers heading to the eastern Sierra resorts and lakes. In town there is an assortment of stores, gift shops, a museum and a real western saloon. Many of the buildings are run down and in need of repair but this adds to the uniqueness of the town. With the rising price of gold the mines are working around the clock again but Randsburg remains a living ghost town. More about Randsburg.
