Dana Point Festival of Whales Clam Chowder Contest


On Saturday March 10 Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort and Spa’s Executive Chef Erasmo Rodriguez will compete against twelve other local restaurants in the inaugural Dana Point Chowder Cook Off at the 41st Annual Dana Point Festival of Whales.

Beginning at 10am at the Dana Point Harbor, Chef Rodriguez’s take on New England Clam Chowder will vie for the “Peoples Choice Award’, the “Mayors Choice Award” and the Best Decorated Booth Award.

“It is a pleasure to be a part of the first annual Chowder Cook Off. We enjoy participating in all city events,” said Chef Rodriguez. “It is a great joy to be a part of the community and to sponsor Fish for Life!”

Proceeds from the event benefit Fish for Life, a non-profit organization that takes children with special needs fishing. More about the Dana Point Festival of Whales.
