Metrolink will bring a locomotive, push-pull cab and passenger coach, in conjunction with the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA); and Fillmore & Western Railway's Porter steam locomotive.
Open for tours will be a BNSF diesel-electric freight locomotive and three vintage cabooses. Additional exhibits include BNSF track maintenance equipment, a homemade hand car and various other rail-related displays.
Model-train layouts have grown to more than 9,000 square feet, featuring all gauges -- from Z to G – displayed by 15 modular groups. Armstrong Garden Center, La Habra is donating extensive plantings for the scenic garden railroad.
A children’s trackless train ride on Santa Fe Avenue will be free for ages 12 and younger, courtesy of The Old Spaghetti Factory, which is also providing coupons for a free kid’s meal. And Barnes & Noble Booksellers is providing coloring and game pages for youngsters in SCRPA’s Welcome Center.
