Muir Woods National Monument - West coast redwood trees dominate Muir Woods. There are several trails that offer a variety of habitats and degree of hiking difficulty. Today the woods look way much of the Marin County land once appeared.

Filoli Estate - A 654 acre estate on the eastern slope of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Filoli is open for public tours of the gardens and historic house. Attractions include self-guided tours, guided tours, and nature hikes.

Angel Island - Angel Island is the largest Island in San Francisco Bay. Tours of Angel Island's historic sites are offered by State Park Volunteers. Tram tours, bike rentals, camping, and sea kayaking. One of San Francisco's best day trips.

Jelly Belly Factory- Not only is the tour free you also get a free bag of candy at the end of your factory tour. More than 400,000 people tour the facility that includes a large retail store, cafe and birthday party rooms.

Oakland Zoo - Located in 525-acre Knowland Park, the Zoo is home to more than 440 native and exotic animals. There is also a kids zoo with plenty of hands-on fun. Children under 2 years are admitted free.

San Francisco Zoo - Northern California's largest zoological park and conservation center. Over 250 different animal species in naturalistic surroundings nestled against the Pacific Ocean.
Roaring Camp Railroad: Santa Cruz

During the 1800s, China Camp was a thriving fishing village of over 500 residents from Canton, China. Today the park is a popular day trip from San Francisco. Visitors usually stop first at the site of the old village. It is the historical center of the park and has a small museum on the history of China Camp. On sunny days many people spread picnic blankets on the beach, where sunbathing and wading are popular activities. China Camp is very popular with mountain bikers and during the summer trails can get very busy. Overnight camping is also popular. Harley Farms Pescadero California Harley farms does not grow motorcycles as the name suggests but is home to over 200 American Alpine goats. The farm was started fourteen years by Dee Harley with just six goats. Today Dee and her workers produce artisan goat cheese with a variety of unique toppings from flavorful fruits and herbs to edible flowers grown in the garden behind the goat dairy. Sunset Ranch Hollywood - Ride Like a Star

Sunset Ranch Stables lets you ride a horse along the mountain trails in Griffith Park. During your ride you view the famous Hollywood sign and enjoy vistas of Hollywood and the Los Angeles skyline. Sunset Ranch Stables offers one hour rides ($25) and two hour rides ($40). Rides are available seven days a week, anytime between 9am and 3:30pm subject to availability. The minimum age for a rider is seven (under 15 must be accompanied by an adult riding). No reservations are required for day rides with groups of less then ten people.
On Friday's the nighttime Sunset Dinner Ride($60)takes you on a 90 minute journey through Griffith Park to Burbank where you have dinner at Viva Fresh Mexican Restaurant. After you fill up on tacos and margaritas the ride back is under the moon and stars. The ride ends back at the ranch no later then 10:30 pm. Suggested riding attire: long pants, sweater or jacket, and boots (or any type of flat, comfortable shoe. Please no flip-flops, high heels or sandals). Also, bandannas are helpful for that summer dust!

Filoli is a 654 acre estate on the eastern slope of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Built between 1915 and 1917 the estate is a historic site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Filoli is open for public tours of the gardens and historic house. Attractions include self-guided tours, guided tours, and nature hikes. Several areas of the formal gardens include some especially designed for weddings. The largest gardens are working gardens for the production of cut flowers for the mansion and for the growing of some vegetables. Filoli offers a variety of special events and exhibits throughout the year, including a Mother's Day Flower Show, summer Jazz at Filoli Concert Series, Holiday Traditions and monthly Afternoon Tea at Filoli.

Disneyland 2fer Tickets Southern California Residents

If your a fan of Star Trek then these rock outcroppings should look familiar. Captain Kirk and his crew have battled many an alien on this rugged terrain. Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park is a 750-acre park of unique rock formations and is located near Agua Dulce Springs, California. Being located north of Los Angeles and Hollywood the unique landscape has been used for many motion picture and television shows. Films that have used the rocks are Star Trek, Planet of the Apes, The Flintstones, Blazing Saddles plus many more. From Los Angeles, drive north on Interstate 5 (the Golden State Freeway) to State Route 14/Antelope Valley Freeway, which meanders northeast. After you leave the Canyon Country portion of Santa Clarita take the exit at Agua Dulce Canyon Road. At the end of the off ramp turn left. The road passes through the southern part of the rocks, then makes an abrupt right turn. A short distance further, Agua Dulce Canyon Road makes an abrupt left turn, but the park entrance is straight ahead on Escondido Canyon Road. The park entrance to the immediate right. Parking and use of the park is free.

Big Basin Redwoods State Park is California's oldest State Park and was established in 1902. The original 3,800 acres have been expanded to about 18,000 acres. Big Basin Redwoods State Park has largest continuous stand of ancient Coast Redwoods south of San Francisco. Located within the scenic Santa Cruz Mountains, 20 miles north of Santa Cruz and is a two hour trip from San Francisco. Activities included over 70 miles of hiking trails, nearly 200 campsites and giant redwood trees giant redwoods, many of which tower over 250 feet high. If you live in northern California the Big Basin Redwoods State Park is great for a day trip or a week-long camping expedition. The park is open every day year round from 6:00am to 10:00pm. The park is 25 miles northwest of Santa Cruz via Highways 9 and 236 and about 65 miles south of San Francisco.
