Mission San Antonio de Pala is located in the San Diego back country. Founded by father Antonio Peyrei on June 13, 1816. The Mission is the only one of the original Spanish California Mission's which still serves Native American Indians. Just about half a mile from the mission you will find what is keeping the natives busy these days, Pala casino. The mission is well worth a visit, the gardens are beautiful and very inspiring. There is also a small museum which displays artifacts from the early history of the mission. A small donation of two dollars is charged to view the garden and museum. This whole area is very rich in scenery and makes a very pleasant drive in the country. 3015 Mission road, Pala California
