The Eureka Mine was owned and worked by Pete Aguereberry in the early 1900s. The rumor is that the mine is haunted by a grisly ol' "prospector". During its peak gold ore assayed as high $500 a ton. Today there are a few dilapidated buildings perched on a rocky ledge overlooking Death Valley. Directions: Take the paved Emigrant Canyon Road to a sign indicating Aguereberry Point.
