Eureka Mine, Death Valley, California
The Eureka Mine was owned and worked by Pete Aguereberry in the early 1900s. The rumor is that the mine is haunted by a grisly ol' "prospector". During its peak gold ore assayed as high $500 a ton. Today there are a few dilapidated buildings perched on a rocky ledge overlooking Death Valley. Directions: Take the paved Emigrant Canyon Road to a sign indicating Aguereberry Point. Take the graced (rough) gravel road to the site. the buildings and structures will be along a low ridge on the right side of the road. Map Coordinates (NAD83): ~36 21.154N; 117 03.708W
