Eureka Mine, Death Valley, California

Eureka Mine, Death Valley The Eureka Mine was owned and worked by Pete Aguereberry in the early 1900s. The rumor is that the mine is haunted by a grisly ol' "prospector". During its peak gold ore assayed as high $500 a ton. Today there are a few dilapidated buildings perched on a rocky ledge overlooking Death Valley. Directions: Take the paved Emigrant Canyon Road to a sign indicating Aguereberry Point. Take the graced (rough) gravel road to the site. the buildings and structures will be along a low ridge on the right side of the road. Map Coordinates (NAD83): ~36 21.154N; 117 03.708W
